Benefits of Running

The health benefits of running are many. Although losing weight is the most desired result of starting a running program, there are a lot of others.  The benefits of a running program are both health-related and psychological.  In fact there are so many that we will simply list most of the known benefits here. 





The health benefits of running include:

*  weight loss
*  lowered risk of heart attack
*  lowered risk of osteoporosis
*  stress reduction
*  increases the strength and functionability of lungs
*  better quality sleep
*  may prevent the need for diabetes medication for those in the beginning stages


The physical and physiological benefits of running include:

*  improved appearance due to weight loss and muscle tone
*  increased confidence
*  boost in level of energy
*  the knowledge that you are able to do something others can't
*  the slowing down of the aging process
*  release of endorphins make you feel happier

This is not a complete list of all of the possible benefits of running.  But this should be enough to make you want to get out there and run!
